Forced to his knees in agony whenever he speaks the truth, Gideon can recognize any lie--until he captures Scarlet, a demon-possessed immortal who claims to be his long-lost wife. He doesn't remember the beautiful female, much less wedding - or bedding - her. But he wants to...almost as much as he wants her.
But Scarlet is a keeper of nightmares too dangerous to roam free. A future with her might mean ultimate ruin, especially as Gideon's enemies draw closer - and the truth threatens to destroy all he's come to love.

I have my doubts when I saw a different narrator for this series, I"m a big fan of Max Belmore, but to be honest Victor did just as good of a job , you can't hardly tell the different in their voices, he did great with all the characters.  This was another great addition to Lords of the Underworld, which happens to be one of my favorite series.
I don't think you would enjoy this book as much with out listening to the previous books, they are all available on audio, and you'll love the previous narrator.

I was reticent to read this one I don't know why. Fear that Gideon would not be sexy or that Scarlet would not be likable? I was blown away!!!! Masterful plotting. Seems like everyone is getting in the game and the series just keeps getting more and more exciting. Whatever Ms. Showalter is drinking make mine a double. This book was her best yet. And Max Bellamore does a smoking job too. If you like Gena Showalter's books check out you tube for Author Talk with Jill Monroe.

Bound by the demon of Doubt, Sabin unintentionally destroys even the most confident of lovers. So the immortal warrior spends his time on the battlefield instead of the bedroom, victory his only concern...until he meets Gwendolyn the Timid. One taste of the beautiful redhead, and he craves more.Gwen, an immortal herself, always thought she'd fall for a kind human who wouldn't rouse her darker side. But when Sabin frees her from prison, battling their enemies for the claim to Pandora's box turns out to be nothing compared to the battle Sabin and Gwen will wage against love.
Don't miss the other books in the Lords of the Underworld series.

Max Bellmore might just be my favorite narrator for this kind of romance books, he's voice is so sexy!! it just makes these books even better.

This is a great story and I love the sound of the narrator's voice, but there were just two things wrong with the audio. About three and a half hours through part one, you hear Max Bellmore say: "Sorry I'll do that last part again." And the editor gives him the go-ahead before he rereads the sentence. Same thing about three and a half hours through the second download. The editor suddenly says: "Just give me the end." And Bellmore agrees and redoes the sentence.
Not a big deal, I thought it was more funny than anything else. First time I heard it I laughed and listened to it again. I was just a bit shocked that this happened twice in the same audio book. I always thought someone listened to these all the way through before they were sent out.
But again, not a big deal, doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the book, which is a great story in an amazing series, and I still think Bellmore's voice is perfect for all the characters .

Bound by the demon of Doubt, Sabin unintentionally destroys even the most confident of lovers, so he swears off women only concentrating on fighing the hunters, until he mets Gwen, an immortal herself, who always thought she'd fall for a kind human who wouldn't rouse her darker side. Through each other they both learn to embrace their darker side and learn to trust each other and then love each other. this was one of the best books yet and I can not wait until the next book. I have to say that Max Bellmore is one of the best narrator's I have ever had the pleasure of listening too and he makes each character stand out on their own with their own voices. He even does the women's voices great. I really hope he continues to be the narrator for the rest of the books.

This is my favorite book in this series so far. They just keep getting better. And Max Bellmore has quickly become my favorite narrator. He really makes each character distinct. His pitch for the hero is perfect. Gives me the shivers! :) I hope he branches out and does more for Audible!
