This narrator is the best. Her change of voices makes you believe the characters. After my first listen of this series, I stopped reading the books and listen to them instead. I really enjoy Lula!!

This is the first time I have read this author and have fallen in love with the Stephanie Plum series. I downloaded all 13 books and listened to them all within a week. I couldn’t wait to hear what adventures (and mishaps!) that Stephanie, Joe, Ranger, Lula and the rest of the gang would get into. I’ve read some of the previous reviews. I agree with some and disagree with others. I disagree that it gets old and complacent that Stephanie finds herself in the same situations in every book. It appears to me that Stephanie’s character is just one of those people that trouble and mayhem seem to find. I do agree that narrator Lori Petty is the voice of Stephanie. Narrator Debi Mazar’s accent is a bit heavy for audio books and then after all this Lorilei King takes over as narrator for the rest of the series. While Ms. King’s character voices are awesome (she has such a range!) her Stephanie voice has no Jersey accent at all and sound just a little too “blue blood”. Otherwise Ms. King is a joy to listen to. You will fall in love with Ranger and Joe! Both are too hot to handle……no wonder Stephanie can’t choose between the two!
Don’t let the narrator changes deter you from listening to this funny charming, and at times mysterious series. You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for something light hearted to listen to.

Stephanie Plum's got rent to pay, people shooting at her, and psychos wanting her dead every day of the week (much to the dismay of her mother, her family, the men in her life, the guy who slices meat at the deli...oh, the list goes on). An ordinary person would cave under the pressure. But hey, she's from Jersey.
Stephanie Plum may not be the best bounty hunter in beautiful downtown Trenton, but she's pretty darn good at turning bad situations her way...and she always gets her man. In To the Nines, her cousin Vinnie (who's also her boss) has posted bail on Samuel Singh, an illegal immigrant. When the elusive Mr. Singh goes missing, Stephanie is on the case. But what she uncovers is far more sinister than anyone imagines and leads to a group of killers who give new meaning to the word hunter.
In a race against time that takes her from the Jersey Turnpike to the Vegas Strip, Stephanie Plum is on the chase of her life. The unforgettable characters, nonstop action, high-stakes suspense, and sheer entertainment of To the Nines define Janet Evanovich as unique among today's writers.

This is a great listen, with this book I understood  why everyone loves this narrator, she is fantastic, and if you just want to get away an laugh out aloud this is the audio book to get, I do recomend to read the series in order.

I love this woman's books. when people see me driving down the road laughing my head off they must think I've lost my mind. it's one of those books you just can't stop listening to.

the stephanie plum books are like coming home to old friends, joining in a new adventure. they keep you guessing what crazy thing might happen next. the characters and the story suck you right into their world.

This is my first experience with audio books and what a treat! Stephanie's adventures are as intriguing and funny to hear as they are to read. Add her colorful co-workers and a trip to Las Vegas, and be prepared to stay glued to your audio player. This time Stephanie is living with Joe, but still manages to get mixed up with criminals. Ranger is ever-present saving Stephanie from certain doom either in person or with one of his merry men. Lula is trying to become a supermodel-by-protein dieting, and attracts all kinds of animals - mostly the 4-legged kind. Connie gets involved in the chase this time by accompanying Lula and Stephanie to Las Vegas, catching the gambling bug with some interesting consequences. And there's a new addition to the family, but I won't spoil that surprise. In all "To the Nines" provides entertaining listening that goes as quickly as if you were reading the book.

Stephanie Plum, Trenton, New Jersey's favorite pistol-packing, condom-carrying bounty hunter, is back and on the trail of a revenge-seeking waitress who's skipped bail. With the help of 73-year-old Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker Lula, a transvestite musician named Sally Sweet, and the all-too-hospitable, all-too-sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie might just catch her woman. Then again, with more mishaps than there are exits on the Jersey Turnpike, including murders, firebombs, and Stephanie's arch-rival bounty hunter chasing after the same fugitive, Stephanie better watch her back big-time if she wants to live to crack this case. Don't forget to download the rest of the Stephanie Plum series.

I read the first three books of this series, this was my first in audio format, I really had fun with this book, I didn't mind the narrator at all, and it didn't take away anything from the book, but you will see that some of the other reviews are very strong against this narrator, people seem to prefer the previous one, which seems to happen a lot when  they switch narrators in the middle of a series.

The plot for this book is nearly as good as Evanovich's laters, but if you've listened to books 7-11 which have a fantastic narrator, you'll likely find the narrator for this one disappointing. The voices are ordinary, rather than the utterly hilarious and engaging ones in the later books, and the narrator makes many of the characters seem a bit slow in the head.

After listening to books 1 - 3 and loving the narrator I am very disappointed in this one. She sounds like a dull old lady and not a spunky young NJ woman. I am going to struggle to finish listening to this one.

I love all the Plum novels. This was actually the first one I read and I was hooked and had to read them all. But I don't like this narrator as much as Lorelei King, who reads for most of Janet Evanovich's books.
