The Mortal Instruments book 3
Author: Casandra Clare
Narrated by: Natalie Moore
To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that enter-ing the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City -- whatever the cost?
Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times best-selling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.
I really enjoyed this book, the narration was great, once you get used to way the narrator portraits the characters, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. I highly recommend this series.
=========================================================By Kayla (Jones, LA, USA) May 26, 2009I really enjoyed this series. I was thinking while I was listening to them they were wordy but I am a VERY impatient person and hate/love suspense so it was killing me not knowing what was going to happen next which actually made them great! I had a few of those, "well I didn't see that coming" moments. I liked the fact there were no long drawn out very explicit sex scenes. I can only listen to those so much before I just want to skip over them! These books kind of reminded me of the Twilight Series in a way. I would recommend them.
By Kerry (davidson, NC, USA) Sep 22, 2009I enjoyed all of the Mortal Instruments books, while some parts do seem to be a bit over-explained (thoughts of the characters get very detailed & occasionally stray a bit), it is an enjoyable series. I found myself wanting the 4th book......but it looks like I will have to read the 'prequel' coming soon! I read these as I saw the author of TWILIGHT reads Cassandra's books, and that was intriguing enough (as I am always searching for new GOOD content to listen to!). Worth the listen!
