Mercy Thompson, Book 6
Car mechanic Mercy Thompson has always known there was something different about her, and not just the way she can make a VW engine sit up and beg. Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. And she's never known any others of her kind. Until now. As Mercy comes to terms with this new information, an evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River. Something deadly is coming, facts are thin on the ground and Mercy feels ill at ease. However, her father's people may know more. To have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need all the resources the shifters can offer. Or death will be the least of their worries.
I can say enough about the perfect execution by Lorelei King, she brings Mercy and Adam as well as the rest of characters to life, I can honestly say that I’m glad I listened to this book first, I might have been a little disappointed If read it instead, this is one of those cases when the narrator makes the book a better one. This the sixth installment of the series Mercy Thompson, this book made me realize the Mercy might just be my favorite heroine in a series or a t least a close second to Clare from the Outlander series. Patricia Briggs does a masterful job at creating and humanizing these characters that you come to consider them part of your family. In this installment we get to see what a wonderful relationship Adam and Mercy share (I love them both). This book was a little different than the previous ones; we get to spend a lot more time with Adam and Mercy, there’s a little more romance without missing some the action that we come to love and expect. You'll be pleasantly surprised to see that Stephan is back, and is hinting that we’re going to hear a lot more about him. These characters are so consistently well written that I enjoy reading or listening about them, whether they move the story forward or not. I definitely recommend reading or listening to this series in order, this book reads like another chapter in Mercy and Adam’s world, you really have to have these characters’s history to appreciate this book.

By Gayle I have enjoyed each and every book in the Mercy Thompson series and I believe this is my newest favorite! I truly enjoy the writing of Patricia Briggs and Lorelei King did an awesome job bringing this to audio life! This was well worth the wait - can't wait for the next installment!!!
By Margaret This story includes many previous characters, but adds quite a few new ones, and I hope we get to see at least some of them again. The story has moved in a new direction, adding depth to the story and the characters. I especially enjoyed the humor - there seems to be more of that this time. I'm really looking forward to book 7! This series is one that I have listened to several times, and I plan to continue to replay. Ms. Briggs writes a very good story, and Ms. King brings it to life.
By Laurielu Patricia Briggs delivers another story that packs a wallop in River Marked! While on their 10-day Honeymoon, Adam and Mercy get caught up in a mystery which leads the reader into some of Mercy's American Indian roots. This includes more background on her biological father. The Fae are involved in the periphery of the story, as well. Along the way, Adam and Mercy are put into a situation where they must contend with a water-dwelling monster lurking in the depths of a river near where Mercy and Adam are staying for their Honeymoon. In order to eradicate the evil river monster, she and Adam must join their new-found allies against the monster in order to conquer it. This novel is a great addition to this series. Patricia Briggs does not disappoint her fans in this intricate story. Plus, Lorelei King's voice is perfect for Mercy. Happy Listening from Bona Fide Reflections!
